History of Our Farm

My story began when our family moved to a farm from the city back in 2002.

 

My dad suggested trying to raise turkeys; so we began with 36 the first year.  I really enjoyed working with the birds and providing healthy product that people deeply appreciated.  Since then we have greatly expanding our operation, and we are excited about selling our products in local supermarkets and quality restaurants.

 

Thus, Little Farm on the Prairie was born.

 

At age 15 - I, Jeremy McWilliams, am the owner of Little Farm on the Prairie. 

 

Now that we have expanded our products to eggs, chickens, pork, besides turkeys, my family helps me with my venture.

 

Even my little brother Elijah loves to help out!

 

Our Products

Today, our product line has expanded to include:  eggs, chicken, and turkey.  We continue to produce all products using all natural ingredients with no chemicals, hormones, or antibiotics.  We feed them alfalfa, grass, hay, corn, oats, wheat, and vitamin supplements.  This year, we are beginning to grow our own feed using non-GMO and organic methods.

 

The Stewards of the Land

 

Little Farm on the Prairie is a part of The Stewards of the Land, LLC, a group of local families helping to change the world by producing fresh foods for kitchens across Illinois. 

 

Our focus is to produce food that is better for you, better for your kids, and better for the planet.

 

Enjoyed in award-winning restaurants, local food shops, and many family homes across the area, the food produced by the Stewards of the Land is fresh, chemical-free and delicious.
