History of Our Farm
In 2006, we started our small farm by raising
vegetables. Since then, we've expanded our offerings to include
chickens, eggs and honey.
While an orchard is planted, it is not yet in
production. We want to continue to expand slowly, by increasing
the diversity of the products we grow and the amount that we produce.
In the near future, we would like to offer lamb, beef, game birds and
more fruit.
Slowly, we want to expand to make it a full-time job for
at least one of us. Bryan
does livestock chores and gardens.
Lisa gardens and handles the marketing aspect of the business.
Our mission is to be sustainable and support local food
production.
The Stewards
of the Land
Blue Sky Acres is a part of The Stewards of the Land, LLC,
a group of local families helping to change
the world by producing fresh foods for kitchens across Illinois.
Our focus is to produce food that is
better for you, better for your kids, and better for the planet.
Enjoyed in award-winning restaurants, local food shops, and many family
homes across the area, the food produced by the Stewards of the Land is
fresh, chemical-free and delicious.
